ABOUT BE YOUR BEST ACADEMY We are a 100% neurodivergent team, and we create personal and professional development courses for adults who identify as neurodivergent. At BYB we pride ourselves on having a strong arm of research, while also valuing the lived experience perspective. HOW WE STAND APART We are aware that life skills programs and courses are essential to the well-being and positive quality of life for Neurodivergent/ NeuroMinority populations. Alas, most of the courses out in the world are not curated or created by the people to whom they benefit. They are also labelled as ‘life skills training’ or ‘social skills training’, suggesting normal life activities need “fixing" in us. We do not ascribe to Applied Behavioural Analysis modes of education. We follow a psychodynamic, phenomenological pro-advocacy, self-awareness approach… and as far as we know, no-one else on planet Earth does what we do – so we are a world-first neurodivergent school! HOW WE STAND TOGETHER Be Your Best Academy puts advocacy first and recognizes the importance (and the brilliance) of embracing diversity. We are a neuro-inclusive, LGBTIQA+ and PoC friendly workplace, and we practice (in-house) what we TEACH! Our team is supported with access to courses, so they can improve their organizational skills, emotional intelligence, goal setting, or just work through a difficult breakup with a workbook. We embrace being open with mental health issues, self-exploration and awareness, and challenge our team to be their best.
